SP2 or not?

is it best to install MS SP2 for XP or not?

SP1 seems to be a lot quicker but SP2 is ment to have all the security ??

just need to no as im installing the XP OS on my new system that i have bought and want it to be as quick as possible

SP2 has vital security fixes so you'd be silly not to install it. I don't know why you think SP1 is faster?!

Not to mention that MS will not support you if you don't have SP2.

Yeah there`s patches, fixes - vital and not.

Things like USB ports get better support without requiring drivers.

Tbh, if it`s not a pc I read email off or browse the web alot, I install something like XP SP2 (usually nlited) and not update it any further. Probably the most stable and efficient way to run a windows variant I have atm.

ah okay SP2 it is then just seems when i did a fresh install of XP on my current PC when i installed SP2 it seemed to slow tad a tad
