Sound Glitch

I've been getting an odd sound problem as of late. At loud or bassy parts of sounds, the sound goes sort of... scuffy? like the noise from blowing gently into a mic. Imposed on the music. It isnt the speakers or jack, ans i have tried 2 different speakers in both jacks. What do you think causes this?

Things i have been doing diff recently are:

Running a headset through some speakers. So speakers jack into pc, and headset jacks into speakers, in order to reduce the irritating noise i was getting. (as in static, not an actual noise)

Turning volumes up loud. This is in order to enjoy my force feedback bassy headset.

i already told u in another thread, 'bassy' 'vibration' headphones do NOT apreciate volume. and they don't live very long. turn it down, they don't have the drivers in them to handle it. thats why you're getting distortion and scruffy sounding noise... *thats making me shiver! i didn't realise i was like this about audio!?*

Yeah, please READ what i said! I said that it is NOT limited to one pair of Speakers! it happens with my logitechs and dells too, and in any of the ports!

*ARGH!*

Now, as this happens at ALL volumes, can anyone offer some HELP??

tried pulling everything out, uninstalling soundcard, trying a different slot?

is there anything powering stuff near/on/around/ontop of your audio cables causing interferance

i did READ what you said, you said it happened with volume... a good way to spot crap speakers/headphones is if they can't handle volume and create mucky, distorted scratchy sounds..

how 'loud' did you listen to stuff?

I am normally a quiet listener, but i turned up high (full) for my headphones, as it wouldnt go very loud at all. I dont have a sound card, only onbaord im fraid. Might it have died the death?

Try them in a different computer, and do you get the noise through headphones aswell? when plugged into pc or speakers.

Try changing sound drivers... maybe the music your listening to is poor quality recordings..

Or then again turning up the volume so much could have just damaged something..
