Protypes aside, is it worth having such a thin screen if the stand takes up the same size of a regular lcd, that would probossibly cost less.

Wall mount would be kewl as long as the viewing range stands up to it.

OLED isn't necessarily about thinner on it's own it's about power saving, brightness and contrast too. Wiki

tbh PLED looks more promising

Biggest pull to the thing is the size imo. I don`t think they`ll ever look as good as existing lcd solutions without being as big.

Who honestly cares about the power saving ? We drive 1 person per car to get something from the corner shop.

Sounds good as a seller tho.

EDIT: Ah hang on I take that back. Sony can aquire millions in rnd funds from governments for slapping on the power saving tag. Very cunning.

Plus the fact a laptop can run an OLED screen for many hours more than an LED screen on the same battery

Yea i wsa thinking more laptop myself as well with the power saving. OLED looks so awesome. Im so glad rear projection was scrapped cause i thikn its just junk. Never liked the things. And Rast, OLED already looks BETTER than existing LCD solutions. Thats the whole idea, smaller, better, less power.

I always think power saving should be one of the top features of new products. Not because of global warming, but because energy is becoming a rip off!

Where did that come from ? I`ve not personally seen one so I can`t say. And an lcd manufacturer will tell u a crt can`t look better.

Dude CRT looks like crap compared to digital LCD. So, are they retards? And Kemp just said that the contrasting is supposed to be better with OLED so that right there states probably better image quality. Not to mention possible Display Port support.

I`ll remember to tell them they are retards when I go back to work hehe.

I`d rather not deal with "supposed" and "probably" with a manufacturer of a new item until I`ve seen it. It may well be, but as I said a seller of lcds will tell u they`re better than a crt

What am I gonna plug into this Display Port atm ?
