I really hope they don`t have further problems from having to roll people back and apply the new one.

With any luck it`s just the installation and the actual code is the same - so no roll backs would be required.

Be funny to them if all the ones that failed were modded or something >.<

Just come across this thread searching for something else ps3 related on google, i can say mine went dead after the firmware update!!!!! not straight away though, it started to not play games and movies (just wouldn't load them) but you could still play games and demo's that were on my hard drive, so sony replaced, only the ps3 they sent me was faulty as the fan would go into overdrive and was very very loud!!! as in you could hear a film when you were watching it! got my 3rd ps3 last week and everything seems o.k, although i am seriously

ed at having to download my content 3 times! I am posting a blog about this on my site cheap ps3 and would like to hear from anyone who has had the same problems! This is due the way sony handled the matter, there was no offer of compansation for me having to go out and buy a USB stick to transfer my memory over to each system and the amount of time it took to re-download all my games and demo's, and the fact thast they dismissed that it had anything to do with the update, and when the second system they sent was stupidly noisy they it was normal and made me out to be a liar!

Rant over guys, hope this doesn't happen to yours it's a pain in the backside
