Thoughts.... Don't buy consoles, especially Sony ones

But its so soon after the last hack

I have a PS3, so naturally this sort of thing concerns me.

A million details though, sheesh

this attack was NOT on the PSN servers - they have almost finished testing the new system securities and once done will, no doubt, place it on ALL sony servers

another firmware update is expected this week - it will allow access to the playstation store, etc.

shortly after this, customers will receive redemption codes, via email, for the "welcome back bundle"

EDIT: "...it broke into servers which run SonyPictures.com."

seriously hate hackers like this, people like geohot are right they do it for freedom and the people kinda these lot are just nerds with nothing better to do

People love robin hood too, until they learn he stole the poor peoples taxes from the rich and then "Loaned" it back to the poor with a very high Interest rate.

Or at least thats what I heard on the history channel.

Sounds like another 'hacking' group looking for publicity, just like that guy who said he hacked Sony's change password system.

Turned out his twitter was linked to a game news and reviews site he ran, so he was just looking for publicity and more hits on his site

Also doesn't say they have any proof, just says "hacker group has claimed it has attacked the Sony network"

Then it goes on to say "broken into servers that run SonyPictures.com"

Are they using SQL Injection also?

"From a single injection, we accessed EVERYTHING"

Seems a bit false tbh

Yah, we know it was the Pictures.

But then again, there is a good chance that PSN users registered using the same details.

And apparently lots of people have been using the redemption codes...cheeky
