The price of Platinum PS2 games is set to be slashed, Sony Computer Entertainment UK confirmed today. With immediate effect, the entire Platinum range will be available to retailers at around approximately a third less than previously, allowing stores to comfortably sell individual titles at £14.99 or less.

Although Sony hasn't officially realigned the standard retail price (SRP), the new lower cost price for the range will allow retailers to offer some compelling offers. One senior retailer told Eurogamer this morning: "Whereas you used to see two for thirty pound offers, two for twenty will become the norm very soon. Individually, you'll see the range going for about £14.99, and some stores may even decide to discount to £9.99."

Those prices look reasonable but definately not low enough to rush to the store and start buying games like a mad man.

yes i have to agree. Fragtek is right. I still think the prices are way to high to run to a store and buy like there is no tommorow.

It looks like theyre trying to promote this sale as like it's the end of the world and u can go and buy games for a couple bucks a piece... When in reality this sale blows a huge monkey sack and you can probably find games cheaper at your local game store in the bargain bin for less than Sony's almighty uber-sale.
