Some water cooling questions.

First question regards the Magicool Monsta , is it infact a rebranded Feser monsta? If so do these commonly work well Low cfm fans? or require high ones?This rad being so thick does ir requre push pull or is a single set of fans fine?

Second question

does anyone ahve any hands on expierence with the EK Supreme LTX and the EK Supreme HF ? is there a massive difference between the two in temps?

Third question

can someone recommend me a a good SILENT pump? im hearing alot of buzz about the D5.

Also do those airboxs or rad shrouds like this make any difference other then adding some lighting?

ok last to first

yes a shroud or rad box can have its advantages. it moves the fan further away from the rad thereby eliminating any dead spot due to the center of the fans bulkiness but they also add to the thickness of the whole setup. you may see a 1-2c temp difference, and you can run the fans at higher speeds without the noise associated with being to close to the rad. If you do this get one that emcompases the entire outer rim of your rad not the little ones like you linked. And try and use those rubber gaskets to seal it so all the air is forced thru the rad this will net you the best performance benefit of a rad box

no first hand experience with either of those but look at martins liquid labs website he did a cpu block comparison

if it is a re-branded fesser monsta I'd stay clear of it. firstly with that thickness (100mm) of a rad and denser fins it'll be noisy as your fans will have to be monsta's cfm as well plus I have read up on them and they offer no better cooling than thinner (60mm thick) rads with a lower fin density.

one important thing that most forget when water cooling is ambient temps. When i first switched to a 420mm rad from my 360mm rad i was like sweet my cpu dropped 5-6c but now that the temps here are getting back up and I have to turn on my ac I see the real difference is only 1-2c but that can also be contributed to my use of the current best block the XSPC Raystorm. If I had it to do over again I'd probably of kept my 360 and added the 240 for my gpu. and saved a bunch of $$$

first off i cannot find a airbox that covers a 420 just a 360,i also would deff use the rubber gaskets.

well thickness does not matter to me as it will being in the front drive bay area . Im attempting to cool a 7990 (appoun release )and a 3930k.I cannot see this dumping out much more heat then when tom did the 990x and the 590 on a single 360, thus im giving myself further headroom by the bigger rad.

oringally i was going to go with this. as there made for low cfm fans and exchange an enormus amount of heat , but it seems it wont fit in the drive bay by alosely 2-3mm width

so second choice was the monsta being well far i thought it was a very efficent rad? guess not... the only other 420 that will fit width wise is the phoyba g changer and well this

i have no clue if this thing is good bad or just flat expensive. im trying to keep all high quality 140 (noiseblocker pk2s) fans in here to keep the noise down .

for a rad i think this will do nicely. its made to fit in optical bays . I dont really like the copper look atleast on pictures but its the performance im after. I really wont see it with the air boxes and fans on top of it.. actually as im typing this that copper may look awesome threw the black smoked noiseblocker fans with the red leds on the air boxes!

Now if someone can help me locate a 140 x 3 airbox that would be awesome and i then have my next rig ready to go!
