Some questions on BIGTX and Thermochill

Hello all, new to the forums. I have been getting ready to get into watercooling on my new computer setup but I have ran into a snag.

The case I will be using is the Lian Li PC-A70B, I can purchase a 360 Top Panel for a radiator, but it will not fit the Thermochill PA-120.3. With that, my next options would be either the Black Ice GTX 360 or the Feser X-Changer 360. Both of which use standard spacing and will work with the top panel.

My questions are as followed:

1. I know the Black Ice uses a higher FPI then the Thermochill and thus needs fans with a higher cfm rating. As we know higher cfm=higher noise level. My question is. Has anybody tested the BIGTX with 6 fans 3 on each side the top side pushing cold air into the rad while the bottom pull the air from the rad? If so, can it be cooled with lower cfm? Or does it still require higher cfm levels to have the same cooling efficiency as the PA120.3?

I know this is debatable and people can argue for days, but its known the PA120.3 has a better cooling to noise ratio then the BIGTX. My current computer is nothing but fans and is extremely loud. My new computer I have in the works I want to be a lot more quiet then this one is.

now my other option is....

2. There are a couple companies that are willing to cut custom top panels for me that WILL fit the thermochill. BUT, they are going to cost over half the price of what the case is. (About $150.00). My question is, do you guys think its worth it? Will I see that big of a performance difference between the PA120.3 and the BIGTX when I keep the noise level down? I am trying to go atleast 30dB or lower with the noise (Yes my setup is way louder right now).

With that you guys will need to know what I am shooting for so here are some specs to work with.

I plan on adding SLI'd graphics cards at a later date (when the GT280 comes out and all glitches/bugs are worked out) But for right now It will be just the processor I will be cooling.

I am going to be getting a AMD Phenom 9850 Black Ed

I will be going with the MSI K9N2 Diamond motherboard once it has been released and all bugs/glitches have been worked out.

I allready have 8gb of Corsair Dominator 1066 ram (2x4gb kits) sitting in a box waiting along with 2x 500gb WD SATAII drives.

I plan on upgrading the processor when the 45nm come out and all glitches/bugs have been worked out (common theme for me :) )

I currently have a EVGA 8800GTX But I do not plan on watercooling it as It would be a waist of a block only to replace it when the gt280's come out.

Hopefully you guys can get a picture of what I am trying to accomplish.

Any suggestions or advice I would more then love to hear it.

Thanks,

Merc.
