G70 out in 2-3 weeks and has 24 pipes.

r520 out around October/November with 32 pipelines beating the G70.

G80 out just after r520 with 32 pipelines and based on 90nm beating the r520.

G70 will be PCIe only. G80 may be agp depending on whether r520 is agp.

Aim of the G70 is to kill off the x850XTPE (which I'd imagine it would do with the extra pipelines and all).

Hi there

ATI R520 is due in October and is looking like it will ship with 32 active Pipelines. It will have a very high price tag and will be extremely hard come by as ATI have had to move onto a new process and yield rates are very very poor so expect long delays on this product and it will no doubt be an extreme flagship product. However it will kick the G70's ass but will cost a lot more and will be hard to get hold off.

ATI Crossfire technology is their version of SLi which works by an external cable linking to cards together and at the moment the technology/drivers are nowhere near as stable as NV's SLi so ATI still have a lot of work to do.

nVidia on the other hand have G70 already in production. The GTX model will be shipping with 24 pipelines and we should have the product in ample stock from the best partners such as BFG, Leadtek and XFX in 2-3 weeks.

Hi there

OcUK is launch partners with both nVidia and ATI on all product releases if we so wish to be.

Both companies respect us for what we do and the paths we take and we get the upmost support on both allocation and price.

The GTX is the top spec card as Ultra has been removed from the lineup. So you still have GT's but now Ultra's are called GTX. These will be in both 256MB and 512MB.

ATI will have X700 for AGP this month but sales are expected to be slow as its basically just a 9800 Pro with a few tweaks. But now OcUK is selling 9800 Pro's from £65.00 +VAT for a brand new card from an official ATI partner.

X800 XL's with 512MB are due in a couple of weeks but again sales are expected to be poor as the extra memory has little effect on performance but is a lot more money.

ATI will release R520 before NV release their super duper 32 pipeline cores which NV are confident will defeat R520 but these won't be seen until December in time for XMAS we imagine.

G70 is looking to be a great product, its going to be PCI-E only as both ourselves and NV agree that AGP has had its day and anyone who complains get out of the dark ages, technology needs to move on as quickly as possible and PCI-E boards are better and don't cost that much.

G70 pricing will be similar to what GT's and Ultra's were when they were initiall released.

If you look on OcUK you can now buy 6800 GT's for sub £200 +VAT and 6800 Ultra's for £225 +VAT, so amazing bargains to be had as most of the NV partners are clearing stock making for some good deals.

Everybody should check our site daily as we have some great deals in place time to time making it worthwhile to keep an eye on the sections. Who knows what deal NV or ATI might offer us next too pass onto customers?
