some am3 motherboards to support am3+ cpus (official from asus)

bd has an extra pin, there are images on Google for the am3b socket but it seems like asus have been shipping boards with the new socket already.

Your right Bulldozer is meant to have another pin however Asus haven't started shipping AMD3+ motherboards yet no one has though MSI have working samples. From what I've read both Crosshair IV's will be new CPU compatible with a simple BIOS update. From the sounds of things AMD will be making at least some of the new CPU's in two forms this would make sense as i read earlier that the new processors will be optimized for the new boards but will work on the older ones if the manufacturer updates the bios. In all honesty though I wish AMD would just make it clear whats going on in regards to the new CPU's

Did you follow the link? ASUS has made it clear which motherboards are supported. Obviously ASUS engineers have the bulldozer cpus NOW and know which motherboards are supported and which aren't. ...and this isn't April 1st.

Some of us do read slightly more widly than just this website and forum you know. I was just reinforcing the fact. So opinions then have AMD got rid of the extra socket pin or are we going to have two separate cpu's?
