Solder preference Lead Free or Leaded?

I was chatting with the guys on the gaming channel the other night about using lead free solder and I find it a PITA compared to Leaded. I do use paste with lead free but that's toxic as well. I just wondered what peoples preferences were when it comes down to soldering, tinning etc.

I agree Sub I just cannot for the life of me get the results from lead free that I do with leaded I even bought an adjustable temp soldering iron. I just hate the flippin stuff

use leaded in a well ventilated area. it's fine (disclaimer: if it's not, it's not my fault :P)

Yeah things have really gone to the wall since we went ROHS tin. It's harder, and more brittle leading to cracking/failure. At least lead was soft and allowed some movement.

IDK what mine is tbh. I think it is lead free, but it doesn't matter for the things I use it for (joining cables, soldering on connectors and amps that don't run hot).

Yeah my uni uses lead based solder. Someone asked a lecturer if it was dangerous and he just said that its fine and that we'll probably survive.
