Software for Windows and Mac?

Is there any software like email, office, etc which can be use in windows and Mac?

I have a bigger question tho:

Is there one that u can install on XP/Vista/Linux/OSx and have them maintain the same files on a mutual harddrive/partition ? Something a quad booting pc could use and maintain fluidity between them.
