Socket M2 and Socket S1 Revealed

I have alot of Q Marks there and i know why but anyway... Nice Pictures. Seems to be pretty small.

Yeah they dropped the pin count down on both platforms....

I wonder what Intel have planned for their next sockets? I've heard a lot about AMD's next gen, but Intel seems to be keeping quiet!

Looks good tho.....hopefully they'll be out by next year (me building new system!!)

Of course Intel have something.. You don't think a company that big is going to have nothing do you? I'd say they're not showing it so AMD can't see what they have :D hehe

I agree AMD seem to be dominating but Intel won't be behind for too long. I can't see them lagging behind AMD always. Hope to hear news of their newest products soon maybe? :)

Intel got caught out this time, but of course they'll be back ahead/on par with AMD soon enough. But then AMD will work hard to get back infront of Intel :)

The war between Intel and AMD isn't going to end for quite some time ;)

It will more than likely never end, lol. One of the companies will have to go out of business before that happens and the only way I see either one of the companies going out of business is by pulling a 3dfx and missing out on an entire generation of processors which isn't likely to happen.

way 2 go frag but i cant rep ya ne more :( well @ least ma firefox translator extension works :)

AMD next generation connection! Socket M2 and S1 forestall to look

Issues the date: On May 06, 2005 author: LEE edition: LEE

Uses the needle foot in view of the AMD next generation table model processor the guess all kinds of, today but we finally had found about the AMD next generation processor Socket M2 real picture, the former all sorts of guesses already became the reality!

The AMD next generation table model processor uses Socket M2, used with present Socket 939 same PGA seal, the needle foot several returned to 940 needles, but was allowed to see Socket M2 obviously incompatible Opteron as well as Athlon from the foot place Land position 64. On the other hand, the AMD next generation migration processor will be able to use Socket S1, the needle foot several from 754 reduces to 638, will achieve miniaturized the goal. Simultaneously AMD listened to many notebook computers manufacturers to reduce the chip area the request, simultaneously reduced it to consume the electricity, from this was worthy of looking at this company even more diligently to develop the motion processor market the determination.

The AMD table model machine processor connection no longer uses the digital sign note

But this time changed the experts in view of the AMD needle foot also to propose once more some anxieties, double core Opteron published in namely, the Athlon 64 double cores looked like also can partly start after this year. If does not have the change, again does not pass through for half year to have to start the new foot place shift, the DIY user can accept is a not small question. On the other hand, also some many motherboards factory pointed out, is unable in Intel CPU to break through the high performance bottleneck under present situation, the success enters 90nm system regulation Athlon 64, not only is the double core, even if is the single core system overhead construction also extremely has the charm. Specially so long as can succeed supports the SSE3 instruction collection, but the video frequency code and the multimedia potency then greatly promote, then the C/P surface superiority is more formidable.

One of the companies going out of business was what I meant, that's when it will end :D
