Hey Guys,

So a few months back i built my frist Rig, was really excited even though it's more a work in progress. So at the moment i'm running a AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1100T Black Edition @ 3.30GHz and 4GB ram,

Now it's not the best but the main thing i'm worried about is cooling!! As i've been reduced to the stock cooler as i was using an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 but was running at a stupid temp 70 + which me beaing a bit of a noob is stupidly high correct? So here are my questions...

Should i stick with Air cooling or get watercooling up for either. Suggestions are needed if so

What is the best Midi Case to buy? was thinking about getting a Fractal Designs Arc Midi. Loved the look of it and the Review by Tom was great.

Cheers for reading.

What case and fan setup have you got at the moment?

Honestly i have no idea. Its a full sized Tower i have Two 120mm Fans at both the front and the back. neither are brands as i got them on a budget so being honest any case is better than my current Case and fans.

Of course with the new case i would get good fans. I'm not bothered about noise if its worth it

I know it may sound stupid to you but did you definaitly remember to take the plastic off the bottom of the cooler where it comes in to contact with the CPU? and also make sure that is secured pretty tight but not to tight

also if you can put up somes pics of your rig so we can take a look see if there is anything obvious

So which is better Watercooling or the best reviewed Air cooler?

For Air Cooling i think most people on this forum would agree that nothing much beats a Noctua NH-D14! I however have no experience with watercooling whatsoever but i just don't have any money to replace things if somthing goes wrong!

Edit: BTW if you do go down the watercooling path i suggest you watch Toms vids. as always very down to earth!

i would go water cooling in a arc tbh it is fun and you could fit a 240mm radiator in there and you would get some good temps on the cpu and w.cooling isnt even that expensive anymore

Ok guys, cheers for the advice it has been great, glad i joined the forums

Tom is awesome would be awesome to work for him xD The only fear i have with water cooling is spilages and air bubbles, after watching various different videos of water cooling i know how to get ride of the air bubbles... what are they water cooler things you can get.o.O what sort of kit should i get for the arc??? Also if i was to cut out a custom window of th case and replace with a high heat resistant see through plastic would it be ok?

Thanks again

Tom did a video on the kit that you need for a basic setup Here but it depends what you want to do with it i suppose, if you want a bigger loop with your graphics and cpu you would probably need 2 rads/bigger rads. And in toms reviews he normally states what kit you can put in said case. I watched the arc review and i can tell you that you can fit a 60mm thick 240mm radiator in the top and that thickness its pretty overkill imo then you can look for a pump/resivoir combo that would go up the front in the optical bays(like tom says

) and if you wanted a windows(which i do for the arc

) the normal thing to use is plexi glass

Ah ok,

Well i just want it to watercool the CPU and if at a laterly date i want to watercool the GPU as well i'll look into a bigger loop..

What sort of Watercooling kit should i get? I'm thinking about getting the "SPC Rasa 750 RS240 WaterCooling Kit" - Honestly have no idea whats good when it comes to watercooling.

Yer that definaitly looks like a good beginners kit and remember you can always upgrade the parts seperatly if you wanted bigger loops or just more expensive better cooling ability parts! Heck why am i telling you this i don't no that well

Guys could anyone help him out?
