ok so I broke 3.6 GHz on my proc (Phenom II X4 925) (spec of rig in sig) I upped the fsb to 260 from 250 but had to lower the ddr3 multi from 6x to 5.33x I'm not sure but I think this kind of defeats the oc yes I finally broke 3.5 but I IMO slowed down my memory spd (I know my value ram is my limiting fctor) but I wanted to know what y'all though am I correct that lowering my memory is kinda dwarfing my oc??? in cpu-z on the memory tab at 3.5 I showed 3:10 at 9 9 9 24 29 733 dram freq 3.6 I show 3:8 at 8 8 824 27 693 dram freq

amd dont get the same gains from high mhz ram as intel chips, amd tend to like the tigher timings more.

if you go higher you may need to drop the ratio again, dont worry too much about that yet and focus on the cpu. once you know its limit then work out how to get the best from the cpu speed/ram speed/timings options open to you.

ok cool thanks for the reply I'll do that I actually got into windows at 3.8GHz but it wasnt stable at all lol matter of fact it rebooted right after launching cpu-z to check things out needs more voltage somewhere but I just ran out of time for today to play with it. Gotta go get my kids from the ex. I'll play with ut somemore on sunday when they go back.
