These petitions have worked very well in the past for other topics. Not sure about this one though.

Aye Terresa May tried pushing this 4 years ago, now she's in a position of authority she's finally succeeded. Also I was reading last night on "The Independant" that those choosing to use VPNs in the future would be seen as people who have something to hide and would be investigated.. I find this hard to believe but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some truth in it.

It's probably true - but why should people be discriminated for trying to keep their own privacy private. This should not deter people from using them IMO. Most VPNs that are setup for the purpose of maintaining privacy will not easily share the ability to investigate a user.

I agree it shouldn't be a case for discrimination and we should stand up for our rights to privacy, I mean what the hell happened to the data protections act. The gov need to get a body in place that knows what it's doing rather than being paranoid.

The idea behind fighting this is if/when they do get caught already doing what this law gives them the freedom to do they'll have no active way to defend this legally. I mean even if this passes all it'll be is a massive waste of money as GCHQ have gone on record in the past saying they don't need the data they use different methods already.

Fighting this will stop every idiot in every government org from being able to access this. I don't need fisheries being able to access my data. The UK Government is atleast 10 years behind everyone else when it comes to understanding what a computer is and this bill reflects it again.

I'm not a fan of PRISM Mk2: Thatcherite boogaloo.
