Agreed, although I have this nagging feeling that DX10 isn`t going to be the card-killer that peoples may be leading it up to be. More of a selling point I expect.

Sure it`ll have techniques that`ll raise it over DX9, just as 9 prevailed over 8. But I`m kinda thinking that having a DX9 ~based~ card isn`t going to be as much of a drawback as people might think. U just won`t be able to do `some of the things`, and by past experiences I bet it isn`t going to be that dramatic.

DX10, imo, will install on a DX9-card based pc, just some stuff it won`t do.
