Normally I would guess that was an unstable overclock. Try intel burn test for quick results or prime95 to check. If both of those come up clean, burn memtest and boot the cd, and run that for about 10 passes.

I have yet to do a memtest. I had my DVD-ROM unplugged because I didn't have a second 90 degree cable. I managed to find one though. I'll try that out tonight. As for a stable OC I have done a P95 Small FFTs with no errors.

I know it's not the longest test in the world but my comp is usually stable if I can get past the 4th test. Would a longer test help out? Should I test the Large FFTs for more RAM testing? I was basically doing this for temps as the Small FFT shoots the temps up to the max the fastest.

Oh and yes that was in Win7.

Try a few more tests, I'd also use intel burn test, its much faster, and will find problems in five minutes rather than five hours. Note intel burn test will add a good 5-10C over prime 95.

Try a combined torture test, on prime95, but do the intel one first as it will show problems faster (do about 10 passes). Once you have done that, then I would try memtest as that one is best left overnight, because it takes ages and you can't use your pc in the mean time.

I would shoot prime95 for about 8-10 hours. It looks as though those tests took minutes, not hours.

Sigh... So I started doing what I my dad always taught me. Check the obvious first. Checked the seating of the ram. After that I had to switch the power supply on, figured what the heck, I'll check the cable, make sure it's secure in there. It wasn't. I was able to push it in some. Figured I'd plug it into the wall at the same time instead of through a multi-outlet. Boot up into XP, run Intel Burn Test, bam, same everything except for lower RAM voltage and slightly lower timings (my RAM actually has them on the sticker, DAMN YOU EYES! lol) and ran stable...

So I'm going to OC it again, run some games, see if it crashes. If it doesn't, I'm going to slap myself...

Ok so final result was 3.1ghz at 1.25v! Best OC so far since the voltage was lower at that speed than I have ever got. Did a 10 pass test on Intel Burner and was stable.

If I went up to 3.2ghz with a higher voltage bios didn't even want to boot right. I tried upping the NB voltage but that didn't work either. Would the bios have problems if the CPU isn't being powered enough?

I was still crashing. I've unhooked my fan controller and one fan. I seem to be ok now but will see tonight. I didn't even turn my computer on last night. :/

It own't post if the CPU doesn't have enough juice. Try knocking the RAM voltage up a bit, and making the timings more relaxed (i.e. bigger numbers). After that try a different divider on the RAM.

Thank you everyone that tried to help!! Just goes to show how great a community it is here.

So I figured out the random BSODs. It still baffles me why it was happening but it's not anymore so I'm happy.

So when OC'ing my CPU I had the FSB/RAM in a 3:2 ratio. When I bumped up to 3.2ghz it put the ram just over what it can handle. I've heard of people getting my ram to 1000mhz but I guess mine just can't do it. Going over 850+- makes it unstable and makes my computer crash randomly.

I unlinked the FSB/RAM, put the ram at 800 for tests and now I'm at 3.5ghz at 1.4vcore lol. So power is no longer an issue for now. I feel kinda stupid after you guys making all those suggestions. And I really appreciate everything. I was even able to OC my GPUs to push to 21,900 on Vantage. Glad we figured this out, now I can put money torwards my bicycle or purchasing one for my fiance.

Thought it was a RAM issue, glad that the BSODs have stopped. Have fun with your rig again now
