Yup...a dedicated GPU PSU.

404 opinion:

While I can see the potential benefit for people who dont want to upgrade their main PSUs or dont feel comfortable hotwiring PSUs it has a point but... how many of these people overclock their cards to the point of needing extra power? Really...upgrading the main PSU would be more versatile straight off, and possibly cheaper! this only supplies 250W, and I cant see it being much less than £60.

I also like the innovation.

Having a totally separate PSU for the GPU's should help nicely with the overclocks under load :)

Agreed 100% this is probably the future way to upgrade and keep it nice and tidy also.

Cheers

The only problem i have with this is that once you squeeze it into a drive bay you have to put tiny fans in it, the less 40mm fans going at 4000rpm in my system the better IMO.

Your rule "Seperate PSUs good" but you forget the other rule, "Less Thermaltake the better"

Update: Retail value can be sub £40 delivered if ya look in the right place.

Offers twin 12V rails, unit offers 21A total...say 10A for each GPU... if the PCI-E slot power capability is taken into account, does that offer enough power for X1900 CF fully overclocked? At the mo, a single-Rail PSU still has the more useful power option, but at higher cost.

I would rather upgrade my main PSU than use that and something else. A SeaSonic 600w or similar would do nicely rather than use seperate PSUs. Another point is that, that kits adds an adapter between the main ATX connector and the board, this is not optimal and can cause stability issues as it increases resistances

Oddly i like it yet i know it will go bang and take some costly gear with it which will suck.

I'd rathe rupgrade my psu to soemthing meaty not that my PC+P510 aint but i'd got up to an 850 or 1KW if i needed to
