Ever since Skylake's launch we have been used a lot of Corsair's recent CPU coolers and have not ran into any issues.

This issue is restricted to very few CPU coolers and we have heard no reports of it affecting Corsair parts.

Only CPU coolers without retention springs are affected, in example the Scythe Ashura

Update on the scythe coolers

Just got a mail from scythe.

"Thank you very much for your inquiry and the interest in our items.

The newest intern test of our development department showed that only the Mugen 4, Mugen 4 PCGH-Edition and the Mugen Max be affected by the Skylake issue. All other of our coolers are not be affected by the Skylake issue and works very well with it. For this cooler is no additional screw set needed.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your patience!

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or require
further information.

Best regards,
Dirk Meier"

Is it me or is the CPU in the picture bent at the corner?

Aye the damage is caused when the cooler is fastened too tight exerting excessive force on the ihs thus pushing the substrate down onto the pins and the edges remain in the socket groove.

I'll have to make sure that I check my Thermaltake 240mm AIO before I build my Skylake system in January.
I would not be happy if my 6700K was ruined right out of the gate.

Skylake still shippes coolers, only the K versions dont get any.
That behind, i broke one today, attaching a Scythe Mugen 4 :/
