This was a big let down as I thought this was referring to SD style cards/USB for flash memory. My mistake for assuming they'd develop something for consumers before our AI overlords lol

Yeah, it sucks. But big business is where all the money is sadly. It's strange that "making a product that people want" isn't seen as a successful business model anymore. It's now, "make something that big money wants" or "build something that exploits people".

Any new innovations will be solely for the huge money laundering circle jerk known as the AI industry.

On the bright side, this one will give AI what it wants in a way that appears to need less silicon. It would take a whole lot of HBM to deliver the capacity that these chips should deliver.
