Hi Guys,

I've been messing around with the site design again  and have come up with this:

http://www.overclock3d.net/index2.php

Basically the review and news 'recent' bars have thumbnails on them.

Before you vote, please consider the following things that would be different on the final version:

All thumbs bordered

Higher quality thumb images

Other boxes (like friends & join oc3d) would also follow the look.

the new one looks better , even the pics with the news and stuff make a better effect on the user as soon as he opens the page

Its hard to say mate cos the images are not too detailed at the moment. For the recent news section it looks ok as the thumbs represent the subject well.

as for the recent content section i think that a description of the less obvious items would help as well. eg the silverstone unit could start with "Power" cos teh pic does not work for it.

And finally to the join boxes, i do not think images would add to their appeal, unless you used teh normal advertising gimic of women.

Did not vote cos my comments were worth more, also notice i am dyslexic when typing the = teh

Sorry for going off topic but - I am dyslexic too! :D

Althought how does the = teh I don't know.. That would probally be a mistype.

It looks nice, but IMO the images on the side are "over the top."

I think the way it looks now is beautiful, a job well done Mr. XMS.

Can u change the OC3D on the borders to something a bit more.... hard to explain.. attractive ?? Maybe something as simple as using the OC3D blue color rather than black.

Yeah that's on my to-do list atm. The corners need a bit of anti-aliasing and I may change the colour scheme.

The new one looks better, altho the "news snippets" part at the bottom looks out of place and makes the page a lot bigger.

The site still looks like a skinned CMS tho

new one looks good although a black and orang theme would look ace :P

lol, its not as easy as just checking some radio buttons in the admin cp ;) think the colour scheme atm is ace, just a few minor layout changes would be refreshing :)
