Silk Road 2.0 Hacked all bitcoins stolen

Bitcoin's not been having a good time at all in the last few weeks.

There have been people tumbling these things to try and get away with it. So crazy how much money people are seeming to get out of this.

That being said the price has crashed because of the Mt.Gox situation. Bit of a nightmare.

Shame. Seems like the reputation of bitcoin has been hit pretty hard.

Well it wasn't really hacked, or at least it's unlikely, because the so called "transaction malleability” bug cannot be used to withdraw bitcoins. Instead it's much more likely for it to be just a scam by the staff. User's have been complaining for quite a while about issues with SR2.0 and nothing has been done to fix those, and then bam! funds are gone because of a bug that can't withdraw bitcoins .

I doubt it affected the reputation of bitcoins tbh, sure the prices have dropped for now but they are just as secure as before. It's the escrows reputation that is gonna take a hit.

Thought it'd be obvious that SR2 was either a honeypot or a scam. Now it turned out to be a scam, win for me :D

Last I heard this was in fact pointing to an internal scam by the staff, oh just read last post :P

And that is why you buy drugs with cash :^)

The last time there was a big bitcoin "heist" some people got very angry, found out who stole it and threatened them. Quite why you'd still from tech-savy weapons/drug dealers is beyond me.
