TBH I have enjoyed Civ 6. Haven't played it as much as Civ V though.
As far as I can tell, Civ 6 offers a lot more variety when it comes to each Civilization's abilities and the district system can make warfare a lot more challenging as district pillaging is a horrendous thing have happen to you.
Rise and Fall's loyalty system is also a big deal, as well as golden/dark ages. Each has the ability to change the direction of a game. While a lot of these changes don't sound big, I do like how they twist the game.
It is a strange one, as I don't know if I prefer Civ V or Civ VI, as both play very differently. I definitely prefer Civ VI if I plan on not using the domination victory type though.
