Should I get a Second 6870, a 7870, or a 570?

I have been debating this with myself for a long time and have never came to a conclusion, I'm looking to spend around 300 for a new card. The question is simple and if you have any other suggestions feel free to tell them.

System Specs

i7 3770K

Biostar TZ77XE4

XFX 6870

16Gb Mushkin Silverline

Corsair TX750w

Silverstone Raven RV02

I would personally go for the 7850.

Then use the extra money to put towards a second 7850 in the future if you really feel the performance is lacking.

Thats kind of what my thought is right now on getting a second 6870, but will the FPS gain be worth the power consumption, or should I go with a single newer card and have better single GPU frames with less watts pulled, and then maybe get a second one of those in the future

The newer cards doing have a lot lot more bang for buck, with better crossfire support over any older generation cards.

I think regardless of the 570 performance, the 7850 will hold value more if do find yourself in the same position in a years time.

I think on just one screen, the performance of one 7850 will be sufficient on todays games without crossfire, and you will definitely see a big difference over the 6870.

No offence dude, but you would be an idiot to buy one of those now,you do know they have over 125,000 of those buggers to shift, the price on them should drop every day.

I thought that. Then I thought they bring out a 650TI made with them or something similar to get more cash for them. Or a 660 even, but I think I seen 660 details internally somewhere.

Something dual even, a 675 or whatever.

I'd go with the 7850, all newer games will run better on the new gen cards than the old gen because they are optimized to run on them. Plus the 7850 uses less power, runs cooler and quieter and overclocks pretty good also.

But if you can afford a 7870 then that's what I would get.
