So I finally have a case for my HTPC in my room to stream content to my TV/Phone and Xbox 360.

Here's where the problem starts, the case only supports SFX or the M-ATX PSU form factor. The case did come with a 300W unbranded cheapo PSU which is OK, but it is noisy so its gotta go,

My question is, is it possible to get a fanless SFX PSU? or a decent SFX PSU at a reasonable price, not jumping into the price bracket of a 700W modular ATX PSU.

Or is it possible to get a 300W Pico style psu?

Heres the spec of the rig it will be powering, (parts leftover from various builds)

AMD Athlon II X3 460 (underclocked to 3GHZ)

Asus M4N68T V2 M-ATX

4GB DDR3 1600MHZ G.Skill RAM

1 x 128GB Crucial SSD

2 x 2TB WD Green's

Probably the best SFX PSU is the Silverstone ST45SF 450 watts, it is not very expensive either.

UK,

Sheesh £63?!?!

That costs more than the whole build has so far, (granted the majority of it was just parts from a previous build)

Looks like im gonna be looking at having to remove the fan and replace it with something a hell of a lot quieter

Fitted it and its absolutely perfect, Whisper silent in my view and I am picky for noise, the PC sits about a foot away from me on the floor and I can't hear it. However my normal PC is fairly loud so it would be difficult to hear anyway,

At night it is again silent, Just need to figure out a way to get rid of the annoying power button light! :)

Thanks for the update. You could always just put a piece of tape over the power button light as a temp solution.
