'Lo all
I just bought myself a new 'Super G' router and everything is running sweet. The question I have is that when I went and tested my new firewall, all three tests that I ran showed that the IDENT service on port 113 was not showing up as stealthed, but 'closed'. Just for confirmation and my own peace of mind; Mirc is the only program that I know of that uses this port, and I don't use it that much. What I was thinking of doing is forwarding that port to an a non existant local IP on my network - 192.168.0.500 for example. If I left port 113 'closed', but not stealthed, it would mean a remote machine would know a live system is out there, but it would be unable to gain entry in theory. Comments or suggestions greatly appreciated
