What I am wondering about that technology is: does it effect pure performance as well?

I guess you can turn up the fan speed quite a bit, so I'd assume it would.

It's a pretty cool tech, it will allow fans to operate at much faster speeds while maintaining the noise levels that we are used too, or better yet operate silently with a decent bump to performance.

I imagine when this tech makes it to the market it will cost and arm and a leg though.

Noctua showed a prototype of this at computex 2013, will be interesting to see what they come up with... and when it will end up in stores
