Hi

i currently have a 256Gb main drive with windows 8.1, and i wanted have another drive for recording BF4 footage.

Hows best to set this up ? never done this before just starting out with the AMD recording App

Im pretty sure you can alter the directory that the files will be stored in. simply install the drive into your PC, then navigate through the AMD settings.

gona get 500Gb,

50Mb per second 1080p @ 60Hz 3o mins worth is 17Gb, gona get an SSD i think.

is there anything i need to do in the Pc bios with Raid or anything ? or can i have it behave like an external plug in drive ?

You could have it as an external drive, though I wouldnt see much of a benefit, unless of course you actually need it to be moved around to another PC etc.

Windows will generally preserve the drive letter as long as you keep the boot conditions the same, just keep it plugged in at startup.

Just a suggestion, you could get a pair or more of disk drives and raid them instead. Would be quite a bit easier on the wallet. While still having enough performance to handle things.

i record and play off the same drive now without any problems, just wanting to make the whole recording thing a little more ideal with the extra drive.

So one drive does the Booting and running of the game and another takes the recordings

But are they not rated for 5-10 year at X amount of data per day ? im lucky if i get through 5-20 Gbs a week

I have bought a Samsung 840 EVO 500GB especially for recording video and I've been using this for recording for half a year now and I didn't have any wear problems yet.

On the other hand, what tool are you using to record? You said something of AMD but I don't get it... I record with dxtory and with dxtory it's easy to select the drive/folder where you record to..
