Seagate Opens New State Of The Art Data Recovery Facility

Seagate have opened up an Netherland's branch of their data recovery service. All brands and all formats are accepted, along with a 'no files - no charge' policy, and currently they are offering evaluation free of charge. Who's up for some data recovery?

Take the discs out n stick them in a big machine?

In that circumstance yes, I believe they take out all of the platters and put them in to a machine which acts as a hard drive to spin up the platters and read the data.
 
Yep Frags got it. Obviously the environment has to be dust-free, which is probably where a lot of the money on these facilities gets spent.
 
the dust free ares of my local seagate plant and dam sweet if i do say so myself. They put a lot of money into it. Everytime you walk into the room you must wear a white suit and mask etc tec, if you dont, u get fired, simple.

USed to work for seagate in the platter polishing end of things. Dam boaring but cheap deals on HDs

sounds kind of interesting. ive been thinking about putting in a resume to the micron factory down the road and trying to snag a management position. cheap deals on d9 perhaps? ;) i could hand pick the fastest chips and send em to ocz to make some custom sticks 4 me, hehe.
