It may still have problems with higher ram height, one of the heat pipes overhangs the first maybe the 2nd ram slots, it might be be a push to get the corsair vengence in, and rarer/older stuff like ocz reapers would probably have a problem aswell on that ud5.
it also seems a waste unless you allways have your side panel open or run on a test bench as it would probably be starved for air in most cases.

its going to depend on their speed ian, i think the air going thru the fins will add some noise but unless they only spin about 1.5k rpm they will make some
i hope they hit 3k+ tbh so they push a lot of air about
if they are <900rpm/1200rpm id consider them quiet depending on how much air they move at that speed but if they are mental and go 1500-2500rpm then they would have more noise than a jet engine hehe

The Susanoo seems very rushed and bodged. It could've been made many times better by squeezing in more surface area and those fins look cheaply manufactured
I found this little test. If the reported results are good, it's extremely disappointing.I look forward to seeing the results of Tom.
Ouch... what a let down, more so than expected. Those test results are not too flash even against the slightly under-performing CP14, since the older CP12 is being more packed in with fins.
just thought i would reply to this now having had the cooler in my hands, its far from cheaply made and the fins and their welds to the pipes are very solid.
the only flaw i have found is the amd mount is a slight pain, trying to line up the screw from the backplate to the holes on the sink is tricky and is something of a job for 3 hards.
other than that the heatsink is a wonderful peice of kit, and if you can fit it you wont find a better blower.

i cant do an apples vs apples test as i dont have a d14 to hand but the d14 is a little lighter, but not as much as you would expect. the d14 does have a slightly more rough feel to the base, they are both machined in a circular fashion but the susanoo is done to a much finer finish. not that i am saying thats better for cooling, more an observation. i wouldnt say their is much difference in the thickness and quality of the fins just maybe the d14 has had more time spent on how they are fastened together around the edges of its towers.
i do think the d14 has a more friendly mounting system with its bigger, chunky thumb screws and handy screw driver thing but i dont think it would match it cooling wise. noise wise the d14 isnt as loud on 12v but it has fewer large fans which i would geuss move less air. the other plus of the susanoo is the cooling effect it has on the board, as its a blow down sink and its so big it cools everything from the top of the board down to the 2nd pci expansion slot. so while primarily its cooling the cpu it also helps cool the vrm and power regs, the ram, the nb/chipset of the motherboard and your gpu too if it will fit under (580 wont, others idk).
epeen wise, well the d14 is the new true init so i guess its more if your a sheep or a wolf

Thanks for that, small review in itself - maybe Tom could do a direct comparison chart if he has a spare moment
