Scared of knocking D5 out

Hi guys/guyettes again, I received my D5 and XSPC acrylic tank res the other day (sorry no pics yet) but I'm a little concerned by the ease with which the pump can be disconnected. It sticks in with the pressure of the 'o' ring but with just a little push it will pop off.

Im not at the stage of filling yet, and it maybe perfectly normal, its fully inserted, but I can imagine changing components and just nudging it to disatrous effects.

Are my concernes unfounded or do you have to be careful?
(Ill do a rig gellery entery when finished)

OK, if thats the way its meant to be then thats fine. But Im still a bit concerned that a knock could dislodge it.

Is it the same for other pump types?

If its got the fitting ring on it nothing is getting it out.

If yours hasnt been fitted with it then do it quick.

Can you post a photo of how yours looks now please?

lol you have the black square on the wrong way round. The pump is the first thing to go in then you slide the black plate over the back of the pump.

Good to hear! And dont be embarresed, I had sort of a similar problem. I put the O ring on the wrong side of the pump (I somehow misread the manual). So when I was testing the res for leaks with some distilled water and shaking it, it just ran out. :P

Thats a good one. Is there a thread on here for epic fail stories? There should be.
Im sure there will be a few more of these posts before Im finished the build Im doing

awesome you at least asked and found the issue, correct the issue and now you
can pass the same learned info to others.. like a professional!
