Scam Calls From...

Had a call from BT today claiming my line was being shut off momentarily, I'm not with BT so knew immediately it was a scam either from India, Pakistan, Ghana or Nigeria as those are the top 4 for scams.

Anyway I let the automated message play and it went through to "Steve" who was very concerned that my internet was being shut down today, I let him ramble on and on and on, He was trying to get me worried thinking I was an uninformed individual.

Half way through his waffle I casually let him know I have never been with BT and if he could tell me exactly which ISP I'm with, He didn't know what to say to that so he started threatening me saying he knows where I live etc.... I LOL'ed loudly down the phone :D

I've had loads. All from BT telling me they're cutting off my internet. I'm with BT too, but their Indian accents give them away. Mum's with Sky and she's had a load from "BT" too.

Well the first part of mine was an automated message, I thought to myself "oh this is going to be good" lol XD

If they quote your name, post code or address (some of it) don't worry. They are only pulling what they can from BT's online directory. They use it as a scare tactic, f*****s.

I know full well they can't cut off my net, 'cause it already has been lmao. I won't reconnect now until the 27th.

Last one I got was on the company landline, saying my internet was going to be cut off and they supposedly were calling from TalkTalk.

I asked them what building they were in, and they said the building I was in so asked them to come round and see me, they put the phone down and no one came to see me.

Had them call the house saying they were calling from BT, I just laughed and said I won't use bad internet and they put the phone down.

I was getting these calls on an almost daily basis.
I put call screening on (free with TT) and never had any annoying calls since.
In a way I miss them walking me through the usual crap as I string them along for 30 minutes before I tell them the reason Windows + R was not working was because I was on Linux.
But I enjoy not being bothered more :D

This is me to an absolute T!

Since doing my uni and Cisco work, I start chatting a ton of Networking and Systems jargon to them for giggles, they are always keen to hang up then :D
