The Killswitch is for businesses and it's for laptops only. Basically it's a anti theft service, if your laptop is stolen a "poison pill" can be sent to the laptop via a encrypted SMS and disable the laptop and the hard drive. There are a lot of people making a big drama over it making out hackers are going to hack your laptop and disable it, the thing is the service is only for businesses and you first have to enable the service, if you are a tin foil hat simply don't activate the service, problem solved. And even if your laptop did get shut down accidentally the process is fully reversible.
As for the DRM, again people are making a big drama over nothing, all it does is stop pirates from ripping films that are streamed over Intels new streaming service "Intel Insider" which is only available with Sandy Bridge CPUs. It does not have an impact on anything else you do on your computer and just like the killswitch you do not have to use the service.
