Sandy Bridge E LGA 2011 Intel Watercooking

Water cooking? Is the chip too cold

Back to the topic!! I bet intel are going to charge astronomical prices if they are throwing in an all in one water cooling unit.

I think it would be stupid for them to include it, it's an enthusiast chip, how many enthusiasts use ANYTHING stock! Selling it separately is the only way to do it. I've read articles saying it is going to be included with chip. But the actual intel slides from idf say it is available separately...

I agree most enthusiasts will go will get a powerful air cooler or custom water cooling. Intel is wasting money with that idea.

Haha, I was wondering why people were saying water cooking, I read the article an extra time, finally found why....durrrr on me. But back to the subject, Yah I think an intel water unit would cost even more than an antec or corsair. Most enthusiasts dont go for the all in one thing, but I'm ordering an H60, NOT because of some false hopes of outperforming the top end air coolers, I just dig the slick black look of it. I think the idea behind them are good, no hassle, no filling. But we all have tons of cpu coolers laying around i'm sure, who's going to want to pay for an intel one. argggh

Well obviously that will not be used for enthusiasts. i7 chips were not only designed for enthusiasts, the basic user also buys them.

Might find that the retail chips come with the water cooling unit.

But as said most enthusiasts will use their own cooling options

if you pay a grand for a cpu them throwing in a £60 wc loop isnt all that much to ask tbh, is it?

Any information about the cpu heatsink compatibility? Will heatsinks for 1155 fit SB-E?

from the img i have seen it looks like 2011 will be a wider mount than those out but it also seems to have threaded holes in/on the socket for the heatsink so no need for back plates.
