Surely this will just use DSC instead?5120x1440 @240Hz requires over 50Gbps of bandwidth, which DP 1.4 cannot provide.
Yeah I got one too you need to set the panel to 100hz in order to get 10bit I rarely set mine above 100hz since its difficult to push above that frame rate anyhow. Maybe they are using HDMI 2.1? 2.1 can push 48Gbsps5120x1440 @240Hz requires over 50Gbps of bandwidth, which DP 1.4 cannot provide. Bogus marketing speech, it will limit either the resolution or the refresh. And this is coming from the owner of CRG9, which is a previous model. Right now it won't do native resolution in 4:4:4 chroma HDR, due to bandwidth limitations, let alone 240Hz.
Could be, but then again the marketing shenanigans do not mention DSC. If so it would mean compression, therefore further degradation of picture quality, mainly colour.Surely this will just use DSC instead?
It's HDMI 2.0, which is even stranger. Yeah I know, but I refuse to run it at 100Hz after transitioning from 144Hz. Don't get me wrong, I love the display, I would not trade it for anything else that is below it. I hope we will see taller aspect ratios in the future. I would love to see 32:10 MicroLED/OLED curved, that's my dream screen until holo-screens become viable.Yeah I got one too you need to set the panel to 100hz in order to get 10bit I rarely set mine above 100hz since its difficult to push above that frame rate anyhow. I was able to overclock mine to 148hz at 1440p or 152hz at 1080p
Have you tried overclocking yours?
also... 1000r? That seems retarded I don't know about you but with our 1800r monitors you get some colour shifting on the sides imagine how awful it will be at 1000r?
What were they thinking?!
Who the hell sits a meter away from there screen I try to bring my face as close as possible, Also this would not cover your peripheral vision as they claim. ...
Pretty much anyone using a dedicated sim setup for racing or flight sims. 49" has really taken off for those that don't want the hassle of triples or aren't suited to VR.
