Samsung to launch second dual-format blue-laser disc player in 4Q07

Heard some guy banging on about these in a debate of br vS HD.

It`s funny how the unit will retail $5xx and the media $20/30 a disc - and in so many years time u`ll get them for $20 and a couple of cents per media.

Yup, it shall follow the trend of CD's and DVD's. Both of which when unveiled had very expensive drives and OTT pricing on the media. I'd say give these about a year after release and we'll see some good pricing.

I remember buying my first pioneer dvd write for £250, It was amazingly quick at 1x :p now there what, £25.

Suppose the same thing will happen as it did with dvd-r and dvd+r.

tis the way of the world

hopefully organic storage will come out sooner rather than later and kick the BR / HD DVD prices in the teeth

I imagine initial high costs are an effort to claw back the vast quantities of cash used for R&D.

I imagine most people will go with a single solution (cheaper) once it become clear which is the victor, HD or BD.
