Samsung Spinpoint...

i currently have a 120 gig maxtor IDE GDD, its loud as hell, and also i think overheats, as performance is not good imo... i was thinking has anyone had a samsung spinpoint hard drive? i have herd some good things about them, also what do they perform like, do they produce a lot of heat? as i am considering getting one..

I have a 160gb IDE one, and i'm planing to buy a p120 250GB sata 2, as there so good. There quiet and reliable, and have some of the best speeds from 'normal' harddrives.

I have the 250Gb spinpoint SATA II, I would recommend it as so far it's been reliable and it's very quiet (and it feels quick, although I haven't done any benchmarks).

Thanks to scan, orderd on wensday morning, came at 11 today.

I've only ever had one Samsung Spinpoint. Not sure of the model, but it's still going strong unlike the stack of dead old Maxtor's I have on my shelf.

I have a Samsung Spinpoint 160GB, very quiet reliable, I switched from a Seagate SATA as it was a pain to install and no quicker than this samsung spinoint IDE.
