so i noticed when im recording to it with fraps it tends to lag a bit

reinstalled fraps

havent tested it

but what i did do is download hdtune

and this is what i get

every few seconds it dips!

i dont have any data on it luckily so what should i do? is it RMA time?

EDIT: tried recording on a caviar clue and same thing happens what could be causing the problem? fraps?bfbc2?

EDIT2IMADUMBASSLOL: AHCI was eanabled but for some reason i had to enable "hot plug something lol"

anyways now benchmarks are fine fraps should be ok

...what a waste of a thread hopefully someone finds it helpful if not delete it lol

Is this with recording BFBC2? If so I had the same kinda problem last night, in a way. I run BFBC2 at around 100FPS, but as soon as I start recording, it literally spikes between 60FPS all the way down to 30, and the only way to fix it is it have it record at a stable 30FPS. Are you experiencing the same problem?

yea fraps always locks it to a multiple of what your recording at so if i record at 30fps it locks it to 30 60 90 120 (depending on how much your gopu can handle) on my gtx 560 ti at 1440x900 its always 80+ fps so it locks it at 60 but i everytime it dropped it locks it to 30 and it lags alot

I record my Fraps vids to another HDD, seems to make it run much smoother.

it was my 2nd 1tb sammy

now its working fine since i enable that hotplug option

at first it looked like there was just one AHCI option for all my sata devices but the hot plug option was there for each one so i just enabled it and all is well now

now both my extra hdds get steady speeds in benching
