...no 3D NAND in this one?

I think it must have 3D nand, those speeds are simply phenomenal. That kingston SSD from yesterday had me impressed, not it looks crap by comparison to this samsung one.

Can't find anything about the NAND used... but the controller is NVMe capable, isn't it?

Samsung are playing their cards close to their chest right now. With those speeds they must be doing something good, whether it be a new controller and 3D nand or maybe even more.

With the cost effectiveness of their 3d nand, they have no reason not to use it on this performance SSD.

Just ordered an mSATA Evo 840 for a Gigabyte mobo

Does anyone know where I can get the RETAINING SCREWS for a Gigabyte Mobo for the mSATA 2-screws, Or at least the screw Specs, as I'm having difficulty obtaining the specs....
Any help would be much appreciated !!
Thanks for any info! TONY

Samsung's First PCI-E 3.0 SSD Enters Production

Samsung has announced that their new fast and efficient PCI-E 3.0 SSD has entered mass production, and when I say fast, I mean fast! Named the SM951, the drive is designed to be very thin to fit in the slimmest of notebooks and ultrabooksand is able to read and write at 2,150 MB/s and 1550 MB/s respectively which is around four times faster than your conventional SATA based solid state drives.

Samsung also claims this new SSD is very power efficient in comparison to to the XP941, roughly 50% more efficient with an energy efficiency of 450 MB/s per watt for sequential reading, and 250 MB/s per watt for sequential writing. Adding to this, the SM951 is the first drive to support the all new L1.2 low power standby mode that makes the drive more energy efficient in sleep mode by more than 97% from 50mW to under 2mW.

This new drive will be available in configurations of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Also there is no word on pricing yet but we will let you know as soon as more news arrives.
