RAID0 for the sensible

That's why I chose to put three 750GB drives in RAID0 for my games library - PRICE!!! 3 x $80 versus $700 ($900 I think when it first released) is a big chunk of change for many builders.

Now compare with four 1TB drives - $320 versus $1500. RAID0 speed is still very respectable when you consider the HUUUUUUGE price difference.

And remember to always back up... because array failures suck!!!

Awesome to see but these prices still need to come down if we are to ever really replace hard drives.

You can buy a WD Blue 4TB now from OCUK for £119.99 or a Toshiba 4TB for £102.99 and if it's just for games, Docs, Pics etc... the read/write speeds aren't worth an extra £1170 according to OCUK's pricing.
