Samsung newest QLC NAND could make SSDs cheaper and more storage dense

Had a QLC Samsung 2TB SSD, it had probably 4G to 100G wrote to it each day and had data read from it each day, it ;asted a whopping 8 months before it failed, even the 1Tb versions only lasted just over a year.
I am avoiding QLC in the future, will stick to SLC with Raid for "Important" data and then MLC drives for other stuff with Raid.
None of it is mission critical so if it is lost it's not a big deal but more of an inconvenience, having to load back from the backups.
Be interesting to see how much the reliability has improved if any on the 9th gen compared to the 2nd gen I had.

QLC is really good for more of a cold storage situation. Such as a NAS with limited writes. I would not get it as a primary system drive.

I've never had a disc drive fail on me. Some I'm still using 10 years later. I'm very happy about that.

Those old drives are probably MLC technology so that's why
