This is a good thing and about time too, in the short term it wont help with pricing but it should in theory anyway reduce prices in the future.

As much as I hate not wanting to spend $240 on 16GB of DDR4 to let my laptop use dual channel mode, I don't mind the higher prices. It and the high GPU prices puts me off building a new system and the longer I wait, the better I will get for the same money due to new generations of hardware being released... :\

Alternatively, don't wish for high prices, hold off on buying and let everyone who is in the market enjoy appropriately priced products

The new fab is good news but may only be a small dent in today's pricing in the end.
