Samsung announce budget SSD's

They would be good for a boot drive, especially as they are faster, but i'd definitely need one with more storage space.

Of course they are not meant as datas storage, but I certainly find SSD's interesting for boot and OS drives. If the 32gb's are below €50 (not likely) I might even consider taking two of them in raid 0 and using them for my os/games.

Think the biggest thing that might be `driving` this is the advent of SATA3.

I don`t appreciate what price these are going to sell for atm, but it would seem to me that they, and other manufacturers, may well push forward with the newer SATA standard and be selling these as `existing stock`.

Not sure how well they`re selling, I`ve not come across any in the field.

wow price dependent i might just get one of these to boot from.

looking at that i doubt it'l be long before motherboards come with a built in SSD or something? all drivers and stuff pre-included! imagine the possibilities?!

infact imagine if they started introducing it the same way ram is now? slots that you can upgrade with a strip of memory chips?

the possibilities are endless....

With the sizes that the current SSDs are offered in, I can safely say It'll be a very long time before I get one.

3TB of Samsung Spinpoints for my last build cost me roughly €250. :D
