Hi all, I am going to upgrade to a 960 Evo for my boot disk and was wondering which would benefit me in terms of speed having a single Samsung 960 Evo 500 GB or having two 250 GB Evos in raid 0? there is only like a £12 difference between the two options so it basically comes down to performance.

What board? Raid can be a mare to set up on M.2 and can be a bit hit and miss tbh.

Plus, wouldn't he really not notice this speed in real life? Just mostly might see the difference in digits, ie if he does a transfer test?. If you get what I mean here?...
If you would ask me, I would always go with the same as I do with GPUs... I always get the highest end, single card that I can afford. Never more than that, ie I'd personally go for the single 500GB one. Less headaches that can happen etc.

I'd go one large one and save the trouble. Like it's been mentioned the difference in speeds will be more synthetic than actually noticeable. Plus it's half the things that can go wrong. If one 250GB drive dies you lose the whole array anyways so with two drives you have double the risk (although the risk is still very low)

But the risk is still there and it's significantly higher than with just a single drive, ain't it?

Edit - ssd catastrophic drive failures are still pretty rare but double the 1/1000000 chance is still double. (I just made that figure up btw I am too lazy to google)
Yeah Im with a single large drive too tbh.
