Hey all! New member here, but i've been watching the youtube vids for a while now. done a fair bit of overclocking on various platforms and just recently got my 4Ghz overclock on my I5 760 rig prime 95 stable for 9 hrs. It did require a bit more voltage than seems to be the norm tho (1.325v) Now i'll start working on getting memory timings tighter and putting the final tweaks on the overclock.

System:

Core i5 760

Gigabyte P55A UD3

4 gig of OCZ 1600Mhz DDR3 low voltage (running at 1600 currently)

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme cooler

Sapphire Radeon HD4870 Vapor X 1 gig

Xion AXP mid tower case

Antec 650 watt continuous power supply

3 assorted hard drives, and a couple of dvd burners lol

Hey man welcome aboard have a great stay,

nice rig as well

Thanx man. first time i've managed to hit 4Ghz, i've got a Phenom II X4 940 BE system too, but i was one of the early adopters and it seemed to have something not quite right with one of the IMC's and the best i could do with it on water was about 3.7.

I just recently picked up an old Athlon XP 2500+ barton (I'm sure most of us remember those!) was thinking on getting a micro atx nforce2 board and building an old school gaming rig for some of the outdated but still fun older games out there.

Good work with the OC'ing and welcome to the forums

Thanx man! it was a learning experience, there are alot of different voltages that have to be worked out with these newer platforms, i finally got to the point where I had played around with the voltages on everything else and couldnt get past 30 min on prime 95 without an error, so at that point the only thing to do was to raise the core voltage, which did the trick
