safe temps?

I was doing a update on a buiild for a friend, his setup

g1 guerrilla by gigabyte

990x

evga 260gtx

corsair 600t

h80

hx850

corsair force 3 120 (raid 0)

etc etc

problem i seem to encounter is the northbridge idles at 45*C-48*C i was wondering if that was trypical?

it feels very phsyically warm to the touch so the heatsink is making contact

i tryed putting a 40mm fan blowing directly actoss the heatsink fins which didnt really do anything (may not being moving enough air)

side panel makes no difference as theres no longer a heat build up on or off theres about a 2*C difference in temps.

cpu idles at 32*C

Every other motherboard temp is reading 34*C so its honestly just the northbridge that has me worried

airflow isnt an issue its very neat and tidy (ttl tidy)

cpu as at stock atm

well just ran prime 95 for 45 mins on this rig for him

cpu temps never exceeded 51*C with the cpus fans on medium

now im kinda confused which is the north bridge temp but im guessing its one the hotter ones

System temps under 100% load

system 38*C

System 1 50*C

System 2 50*C

System 41*C

thoughts? anyone know which one the NB is? and if all these temps are safe. I know the cpu is safe but im concerned about the otheres

hmm see my guess's were the

system was the little sensor by the ram...

system 1 was north bridhge

system 2 was mosfets

system 3 was south bridge

being northbridge and mosfets are on same heatpipe cooling solution the similar temps would make sense , but honestly thats just all a guess

The x58 chipset can handle up to something like 100C, obviously it wouldn’t be prudent to expose it to those temps for any length of time.

Mine is up to 60C at idle, and according to the manufacturer is perfectly acceptable.

Anyway, your temps are fine.

I don't know what the idle temps are; but currently folding with an open bench like set up with no incidental airflow beyond the tower CPU heatsink, my infrared thermometer is showing 80°C on the North Bridge heatsink. This is a Gigabyte LGA775 board.
