Safe RAM temperatures?

What is a safe temperature for my RAM to be running at? Mine is going at over 60 degrees soon after startup! the other stick runs at a cooler 40ish degrees. Is this dangerous?

Not really. What are you using to measure the temps?

If your worried about it invest in an XTC, but your ears will suffer slightly.

Ok get a fan over them asap. Theres a laccy band + 80mm fan trick that works well thats posted on the forums somwhere as a temp solution.

What voltage you running them at?

Whats the case airflow like?

If they're getting that hot either:

* There's a fault with the RAM

or

* You're putting far too much voltage through them

I`d go with this tbh.

Wouldn`t just put a fan over it, I`d find out what`s cooking.

I found the problem! i had put em in the yellow, not black slots! i think the reason only one stick went mad, was cos the one which was fine, just wasn;t inserted, and to get the other stick in, i had crushed the port. i have a feeling i installed ddr2 sticks in a ddr slot XD 'tis fine now, and pc is running fine, oced to 3.2 ghz from 2.6 stock!
