Hello,

I was just wondering if an Ryzen 7 1700X works in an X470 board, or if it really has to be an X370 board?...

Thanks,
Dawelio

Yes, it should work fine.

Thanks for the quick reply Alien, but ”should work” though? :p

EDIT: Anyone that also perhaps knows if the POST indicator in the upper right corner of the Crosshair VII and Vi Hero is still red or if it can be changed to a different colour? As like the RGB heatsinks on the motherboard itself?...

Learn proper English, man. "Should work". Think about it. Now think about if I said "Should not work".

To the dictionary.

2.
used to indicate what is probable.

Now note my use of the word "should" is based on me not having a X470 board to test, nor a model specified for me to check in order to be able to say "Will definitely work".

In other words? just look up the board you are thinking about (because I am not clairvoyant) and look at the CPU support.

I’m not English and I’m doing perfectly fine with my English. Thank you very much.
But cool, will keep that in mind.

It will work with an X470 board but you don't really need it if you can get an X370 at a good price just get it unless you intend on updating the CPU soonish
