Rebates were only given to certain retailers at launch for an incentive to sell the cards outside the packs. But it's gone now and they expect the cards to sell for MSRP. The biggest reason for the price increases at launch was simply supply and demand
£469 here. Still too expensive, but not "I am going to take a huge loss on this Freesync screen I bought and buy a G-Sync screen" too expensive. So I guess it's good and bad really.
Noticed that 1080Ti prices are now back up to over £700. Glad I bought when I did tbh. About three weeks before Vega launched and Nvidia may have been ever so slightly worried.

Just looked at the pricing for GTX 1080 GPUs this morning, can't find one for under £495 at Scan or Overclockers UK. So much for the old £449 GTX 1080 Deals.
